Results of Extensive Study on Digital Signage in Retail Banking

The Study, Conducted by LEWIS, Surveyed 10,500 Customers and Uncovers Positive Correlation Between Digital Installations, Brand Equity and Sales

December 18, 2018—STRATACACHE, leading providers of marketing technology, announced results of a retail banking research study developed in conjunction with LEWIS, a global integrated communications agency. The market research study extensively examines the impact of digital signage installations on retail bank locations and has uncovered the positive relationship between digital signage installations and brand equity components that drive increases in retail sales.

With oversight from STRATACACHE’s retail banking team, LEWIS and STRATACACHE developed a 50+ question survey instrument and administered the survey to more than 10,500 banking customers of 39 of the largest financial institutions located across Europe and North America. The survey includes questions addressing marketing awareness, brand equity value, digital signage effectiveness and sales actions taken by banking customers. All respondents were sourced from partners that use Imperium’s suite of data quality services to ensure statistically relevant results.

“The ongoing digital retail research STRATACACHE is conducting globally is integral to providing our clients insight on what will drive success in their branch evolution, all based on measureable consumer feedback,” said Angela Vanderburg, STRATACACHE Retail Financial Services Lead. “With this information, bank networks can optimize their in-branch solutions to realize their full potential. The data clearly shows digital engagement in the branch elevates overall brand sentiment, drives engagement between customers and branch advisors and increases likelihood to recommend — ultimately building on sales.”

“Once we started reviewing the first data set, we were floored by the impact digital signage solutions had within retail bank settings,” said Matt Robbins, Vice President of Research and Insight at LEWIS. “Our findings highlight how retail banking locations impact customer relations and how digital signage drives purchasing habits. The results clearly demonstrate the value digital signage is bringing not just from a cost efficiency standpoint, but in driving new sales opportunities for bank brands.”
