ABOUT YORK UNIVERSITY
Located in Toronto, Ontario, York University is a leading interdisciplinary research and teaching university that offers a modern, academic experience at the undergraduate and graduate level. It is the third-largest university in the country, with 54,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, as well as 250,000 alumni worldwide. York’s 10 faculties and 28 research centres conduct ambitious, ground-breaking research that is interdisciplinary, cutting across traditional academic boundaries to encourage students to bring fresh insights and approaches to real-world challenges.
York University required a sophisticated audiovisual solution to modernize their Glendon campus. The University was looking for an AV service provider with intimate, distinct knowledge of education technologies and installation, and who was able to offer a quick turnaround time on the project to ensure the campus would be equipped before the start of Fall classes.
THE ADVANCED SOLUTION
York has been working with Advanced for almost 15 years as the University’s AV design and installation partner. During these years, we have worked on a variety of audiovisual projects with York, with a specific focus on Glendon campus.
With a long history of AV solutions experience within the education sector, Advanced has extensive knowledge on the best way to equip classrooms and lecture halls. The Glendon project included a complete systems design and installation of leading-edge AV solutions within the technology-enhanced Learning Building, the Computer Lab and the 50-foot Education Theatre. Advanced provided and installed projectors, motorized projection screens, Creston control systems, Kramer switches and amplifiers and 42” displays to equip the campus with a complete AV collaboration solution to promote and enhance positive learning outcomes.
