ABOUT YORK REGIONAL POLICE COMMUNITY SAFETY CENTER
The Community Safety Village of York Region is an education facility designed to teach children in Kindergarten through Grade 5 important safety messages delivered in an exciting and interactive way. The miniature “Village” is made up of more than 30 scaled-down buildings and roadways complete with operational traffic lights, signs and even a working railway crossing. The Centre features a main building with a Police education classroom. Within this space are operational traffic lights and signals and a Fire education classroom complete with a fully-equipped apartment. There is also a new Outdoor Activities Centre which features a series of self-directed games in which classes can participate.
York Regional Police were looking to equip their Community Safety Centre with a reliable and eye-catching video display that would be used both for everyday purposes, as well as for large presentations. The display had to be a focal point of the space that would hold the attention of young children.
THE ADVANCED SOLUTION
York Regional Police turned to Advanced to design and install an engaging, immersive video display that would keep younger children entertained while they were visiting the centre. Advanced installed a large 2 x 2 videowall to present educational material, in addition to dynamic content that would educate children on important safety issues. The large, bright and visually-stunning display, showcased in the Education Centre, engages the children and keeps them focused on the lessons and activities being presented.
