ABOUT THE HUMBER RIVER REGIONAL HOSPITAL
Humber River Regional Hospital is one of Canada’s largest regional acute-care facilities serving more than 850,000 people from within the northwest Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The hospital currently operates from 3 sites with a combined 549 beds, 3,000 staff, 700 physicians and 400 volunteers. The Hospital is affiliated with the University of Toronto and is home to Ontario’s first Centre of Excellence for Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery. The Hospital is also the sponsor of Canada’s first home nocturnal dialysis program and operates a major cancer treatment program.
Under a new redevelopment plan, Humber River Regional Hospital holds the honour of being Ontario’s first digital hospital. With a goal to make the hospital a technological and environmental showpiece, Humber was looking for an expert audiovisual solutions provider with significant healthcare experience. The AV partner needed to understand and supply the most modern, innovative equipment on the market, as well as providing all installation services.
THE ADVANCED SOLUTION
Advanced worked closely with Humber to install the most technologically-advanced audiovisual collaboration solutions available in more than 20 meeting and boardrooms throughout the facility. Since the rooms were to be used by a range of staff from hospital executives to clinical and health care professionals and would also need to be available and equipped for training and general meeting presentations, the Advanced solutions needed to accommodate many different types of interaction and collaboration.
The state-of-the-art equipment Advanced installed included cutting-edge projectors, SMARTBoard interactive whiteboards, audio reinforcement solutions, AV equipment racking and motorized projector screens. The new, fully-collaborative presentation and meeting environments allowed Hospital staff to effectively interact and share ideas through stunning visual displays and crisp, clear presentations. The unique, innovative audiovisual meeting rooms also grabbed the attention of meeting participants, facilitating discussions and increasing overall productivity.
