ABOUT HUMBER COLLEGE
Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning is a polytechnic college located in Toronto, Ontario. Humber provides over 150 programs, including bachelor degree, diploma, certificate, apprenticeship and post-graduate programs. Humber serves 20,000 full-time and 55,000 part-time learners, as well as more than 15,000 employees enrolled in custom corporate training.
Humber College was looking to have a videowall installed in the high-traffic main concourse area of their Toronto campus. The institute wanted a large-scale screen to display messages on news and upcoming events school-wide and to showcase Humber TV programs and other major television broadcasts. Humber also wanted to have a live feed from the lecture hall display onscreen to showcase events and seminars to students and staff outside the primary lecture hall.
The school evaluated several options and decided on a matrix combination of 9 50-inch, thick-bezel screens, a solution Humber later declined since the images were so split by the large bezels it made any text on the display difficult to read.
THE ADVANCED SOLUTION
Looking for a cutting-edge AV solution that would properly address their display needs, Humber contacted the videowall experts at Advanced. To meet their requirements, we installed an infinite plasma videowall display – the ultimate bezel-less digital signage solution for large formats. With this display technology, fewer than 3mm separates each modular screen when they are connected in a matrix format. Individual 42″ high-definition, seamless plasma panels join together to create a unified large screen, with large-scale visibility.
Senior Humber staff were ecstatic with the videowall solution provided by Advanced. The images displayed were now clear and crisp and messages were delivered to the target audience in an efficient and timely manner, without distraction.
