ABOUT AGNICO-EAGLE MINES
Agnico-Eagle (Agnico) is a Canadian-based gold producer with mines and operations located in Canada, Finland and Mexico and exploration and development activities in Canada, Finland, Mexico and the United States. The Company has full exposure to higher gold prices consistent with its policy of no forward gold sales and maintains a corporate strategy based on increasing the exposure of shareholders to gold, on a per-share basis. Agnico has paid a cash dividend to shareholders for 30 consecutive years.
Agnico required a high-end collaborative AV solution within their Executive Boardroom that would promote teamwork, information and idea sharing between in-room attendees. The mining giant also required a robust videoconferencing solution to permit out-of-town employees and clients to interact with home office teams. Agnico contacted the AV experts at Advanced to complete the project, following an unfortunate experience with the previously-contracted provider.
THE ADVANCED SOLUTION
Advanced took over to complete the project for Agnico. The boardroom had already been partially-equipped with Creston programming by the previous service provider and Advanced was able to come in and provide Agnico with the complex programming they required. Step one for Advanced was the design of a robust Creston control system to provide a fully-functional and easy-to-use room automation system. Following this, and to further enhance the sophisticated AV collaboration system within the space, Advanced installed an audio digital signal processor manufactured by ClearOne and a Shure gooseneck microphone system, ensuring participants would be able to clearly hear presentations. The ClearOne microphones mixer accentuated the clear, crisp audio throughout the large meeting space.
One of the key factors to designing a functional conferencing system for the space was the size and dimension of the room, as well as the extreme length of the boardroom table. To address this issue, Advanced positioned a dedicated microphone at each chair along the table, as well the installation of multiple connection points that would allow attendees to present material through different peripheral devices. With the use of Extron access points and an integrated system, Agnico employees and clients can now connect and share content from multiple devices and laptops. The entire installation has provided the company with the sleek and sophisticated high-tech boardroom they wanted and ensured the space functioned to connect investors with clients to foster improved communication and collaboration.
